YES! She's a DENTIST, DENTIST!

My mom graduated last weekend from UNLV Dental School. WAY TO GO! She has completed the four year program and is now (well- as soon as she receives her license in the next few weeks) a DR! Dr. Jen, DMD! (Although my blog is private, I don't want to put her whole name on this- I still want to be cautious! No offense to any of you!!) CONGRATULATIONS, MOM!

On Thursday, Bobby and I drove down to St. George with my Sister and her Husband. We stayed in the McGuire Family condo that night and then headed down to Vegas on Friday morning. We got to our Hotel (My parent's home is being rented, so we had to find another place to stay this time). We got ready and headed out to my Mom's graduation- JUST Dental School. Afterwards we surprised my Mom with a Dinner party at Macayo's. She opened gifts and we all had a good time! We went back to the Hotel and got up early to go to the UNLV graduation at 9 am. We left after she walked (luckily, she was one of the first!) We all headed to Town Square Las Vegas for a little shopping and some yogurt! My dad went to pick up my mom when the graduation was over and we all met up for In-N-Out Burger! Afterwards we stopped by my grandparents house and then headed back to St. George to go swimming! After the pool we had dinner, watched Juno and had MORE Frozen Yogurt- I'm addicted! :) We got up on Sunday, went to Sacrament Meeting, came home, cleaned up and headed back to good ol' SLC!
It was a FUN trip!

My mom is in the process of building an office and will be specializing in Cosmetic and General Dentistry. She is so excited to get things going, so if you need a new dentist, make sure you talk to me! She's AWESOME! I was her board patient, and she did such a great job! She had some "awards" given to her during her last week of school and here they are:
- Most likely to be seen on Extreme Smile Makeover!!
- One of the Top 10 students who brought in the most money (for the school). ** This is because she did so many cosmetic appointments. She did Dentures, Implants, etc. She showed me one set that she did for a guy with 24 K Gold teeth (2). They were awesome, and EXACTLY what HE wanted! :) I bet you'll never guess what color he was! (I'm not racist, BTW).
During her graduation they announced some statistics about the Class of 2008. One thing they mentioned was that there were 1800 applicants and only 64 students. I believe only 22 of those students were women, possibly less. I am SOOO incredibly proud of my Mom! She has worked so hard, and has done such a great job! She is such a great example and a hard worker. She was a Labor and Delivery nurse for 13 years before she decided to go to Dental School. She started her first day of school on my 18th Birthday!
She is also the FIRST DR in her family, and she is one of 11 kids! WOW!
Also, if you are wondering about my Dentist, Dentist title, here's the explanation:
My mom told me that whenever she told people she was in Dental School, they would say: "like ... to be a Dentist, Dentist?" HA! What in the world is a Dentist, Dentist?!
Congratulations, MOM! We're all so proud of you!
Here are some pictures from her graduation:

Three years!

Three AMAZING years!

May 14, 2005- Sealed in the Salt Lake City, UT temple.

In the last three wonderful years, we have:

been on 3 cruises, gone to the temple, been to Disneyland,
built 2 homes, started new jobs, started Real Estate, KISSED, been to Bobby's Mission, been to three Fella's Banquets, sold a car, bought a car, fixed a car, spent way too much money on a car, had a baby boy, learned how to be parents, KISSED more, been on dates, taken bubble baths, celebrated Brody's FIRST birthday! made Sugar Cookies, made chocoloate covered strawberries, taught Brody how to shoot a basket, had parties, won the Newlywed game, Cuddled, taken bites out of gingerbread houses, and we've fallen even more deeply in love!!

I love you BABY! Happy Anniversary!

Mother's Day 2008 and David Archuletta Madness!!

On Friday, my sister DeeDee called me and asked if I wanted to go to the Gateway and see David Archuletta at 11. I had been wanting to go to Murray High School that afternoon but wouldn't be able to make it, so I was so happy to hear I had another chance to see him! I told her I wanted to go, and we had about an hour to get to Salt Lake! We rushed to get ready and headed down to the Gateway! We ended up parking in the perfect spot, and the elevator took us right up to where he was... if we had parked in another area, we would have been blocked by the huge crowd! We were literally 20-30 feet from him! We had so much fun! We were screaming like crazy and both ended up with sore abs and a sore throat!! It was worth it though!! GO DAVID!!

There he is! Under the tent!

Speaking to the crowd!

Thanks for a fun memory Dee!!

Mother's Day was great! This year was my 2nd one, but last year Bobby was in New York for Business- he left on Mother's Day (EARLY morning) and was gone over our Anniversary as well. So, this was the first Mother's Day we spent together- it was great! (Plus, he'll be here for our 3 year anniversary on Wednesday!!) YAY! Well, we woke up, went to church, I received a Geranium from the YM/YW- my mom says "you can't kill those!" Just what I need! (Although we did spend Saturday afternoon planting flowers in our front yard- hopefully they grow!! Wish us luck! Then, we came home from church, I made potato salad for the BBQ at Bobby's parents house, my Parents moved some of their stuff into the garage of their new home, they came over to our house, showered, and we all went to my in-laws house for the BBQ! It was a fun day! I got my Mom and Mother-in-law (and me) a picture of President Hinckley at the BYU football game in a fishing hat- it is the absolute cutest picture of him! To order one click here http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/thumbpage.aspx?e=3561890 . (Can someone PLEASE tell me how to make that link a word- i.e. "here" and you just click on "here"- Make sense?!) Once Brody woke up from his nap, Bobby gave me my Mother's Day presents- I love them!! Thank you baby, for being the Best Hubby EVER! You are so thoughtful and I love that you listen to the little things I say- such as "I would love the Rihanna CD" -which I got. Or, "I want a nice camera to take lots of pictures with- " Which I also got! YAY! I got an SLR camera, and can't wait to learn how to use it!
Brody with the gifts.

As you can see from the picture, I got- the Camera, a case for it, an additional lens, 3 filters, a memory card, 2 DVD's to help me learn how to use it, a photo printer, AND 18 photo classes at Inkley's- the whole shebang!! I can't wait!!
Thank you BABY!! I love you! Happy Mother's Day to all!

"I hate Derek Fisher"

Is all I've been hearing for the last hour. So, I decided to post a little about what's been going on. It's 11:00 PM and Bobby and I are sitting in bed, watching the Jazz game. I'm not THAT into it. I check the score every once in a while, but I mainly just keep telling Bobby to shhh... Brody's asleep and I don't want him to wake the little guy up! Anyway, what we've been up to...

1. My Mom had her last day of school on April 18 (I'm pretty sure that was the date!) Way to go MOM! You're a DENTIST! Yes, I agree, that deserves a post of it's OWN. I will do one as soon as we get back from her graduation in Las Vegas.

(The three of us... Me, Mom, and Dad) I was her board Exam patient!

2. My parents moved up here from LV! YAY! I'm so so so excited to finally have them close to us! We have been looking for a house for them since Brody was born and-

3. We found one!! We went out on Saturday to look at homes. And, as their REALTOR, I'm happy to announce that we are Under Contract! Congratulations!! Now, they will only be 2 minutes away from us! Happy day!

4. We went to Costco tonight- I bought some Tomato plants (first ones EVER) hopefully I don't kill the poor things! And, I bought some lovely flowers to plant in my dull yard! Ok, it's not totally dull, but there isn't much color. (Green everything, anyone?!) So, while we were leaving Costco-

5. Brody tripped and totally face-planted on the concrete in the store. I never noticed they had cement throughout the entire place until tonight. How dumb- Costco! I felt sooo bad. My poor little baby cried like I had never heard him cry before and it was the worst thump sound ever. I thought he had broken something... i.e. a cheek bone, eye bone... so, since I didn't have the number to our kids care, we decided to take him in since we were right down the street. He had fallen asleep in the car, so I carried him in and the whole right side of his face was red and a little swollen around the eye. :( I hate seeing him get hurt. It's the worst. Well, the Dr came in and checked him. She mainly checked to make sure he didn't get any type of head or brain injury- which I was sure he didn't. But, she confirmed that! She said he was fine, and he would probably get a black eye and it would heal within the next week! Yay! I'm so glad he is ok. I love him to pieces!

6. The Jazz just lost. :( 107-116 18 seconds left. Better luck next time!

7. Oh, and, David Archuletta (Sp?) is SAFE!!! Wahoo!
