Bedtime song?

This has been Bobby and Brody's conversation for the past few nights before bed.

Bobby: Brody, what song should we sing?

Brody: Poker face!

{YESTERDAY}

Our baby boy turned 6 weeks old...

Gavin is such a sweet, good baby! He is smiling a lot more and loves to yell. Brody laughs every time Gavin makes a loud noise! He is eating every 2-3 hours and waking up twice in the night. He is so cuddly and lovable! We absolutely adore him and his sweet spirit! We love you Gavi!
(P.S. I stole this picture idea from my friend, Amber. How clever is that?!) Now, when I look at pictures years from now I'll know how old he is. I'm going to start doing it for Brody too. Too bad I didn't think of doing this when he was younger. Now, I need to put who it is on the paper as well, because I think I may end up getting them confused in some pictures. They're looking more and more alike.

lots of...

funny Brody stories below. Enjoy!

What's my name?

According to Brody, I have many. Mainly, I'm mommy, but lately I've become "Erta" or "honey"! I've even been called "Bobby" a number of times.
Brody will call me "Erta" or "honey" when he needs something or is yelling to get my attention- kinda reminds me of his daddy!?

"Nana, go"

My mom came over for dinner last night and when she said she had to go, Brody went into the hallway by the front door. My mom started to head to the front door as well, until she found this and started cracking up!

Brody put on my Mom's shoes (wrong feet) and had her purse on his arm. He wanted to go with his nana. He cracks us up! I can't believe he did all of this on his own. He's always coming up with something new!

Walk with Nana

My mom took Brody on a walk while we were at church on Sunday and they stopped to watch a young boy shoot some hoops. While Brody was watching he said things like... "bounce", "shoot", and "ooh! Missed!"

Nothing like a 2 year old telling you that you missed a basket!

"Mom! Ba-ball!"

I was rocking Gavin in his room yesterday when Brody turned my chair around to face the windows. He crawled up on the chair with me and sat... looking at the window. He then started saying "TV". I just sat there, didn't quite know what he was talking about. Then, he starts throwing his hands in the air while saying "YEAH! Ba-ball (basketball), GO!" ... "Oh gosh!!" ... "yeah! Go ba-ball!"
He was pretending to watch a basketball game. (Nice that he throws in "oh gosh!") wonder where he learned that?? :)

I have to get a picture for this post...

But, your imagination will have to do for now.

Brody hasn't been sleeping well (surprised??). For the past week he has been waking up bawling and shaking. I feel so bad for him. He just wants his mommy- which is sweet. :) LOVE HIM! He has pulled at his ears a couple of times lately, nothing too bad, no other symptoms of illness... but I decided to have his ears checked anyway.
I told him we'd go see daddy after we went to the doctor.
When we got to the Dr he kept looking for Bobby and saying "dadda!". I told him that we needed to get his ears checked and then we would go have lunch with daddy. The nurse called us back, we weighed him (28 pounds!) and she put us in a room. 5 minutes later the Dr walked in... we were chatting and I looked at Brody to find him sitting in the chair next to me with BOTH hands over his ears. IT. WAS. HILARIOUS.

I need to take a picture of him with his hands over his ears...I couldn't believe he remembered what I had said 15 minutes prior... and he knew just what was about to happen.

Good news: his ears are fine (I figured) and the Dr says to just keep reassuring him at night. He slept on the floor in our room last night. He actually thought it was pretty fun- and he thought it bounced just like his bed! Nice! We folded a comforter and he went bouncing! Silly kid! (one day he'll realize it was just a hard floor, but for now- I'd prefer that kind of bouncing!)

No screaming!

The other day I was at Costco with my friend and her little boy... let's just say, when the boys get together they think they are hilarious. And they are! But, we don't always let them know that. Well, while standing in line the boys thought they would be funny by screaming. HIGH PITCHED SCREAMS! I was trying to get Brody to stop (yes, Jason listens to his mom), but nothing would really work. So, I turned around and saw an old lady (80's... sorry if you're 80, still love you even if you're old!) and told Brody "you're hurting her ears"... her reply?? (as sweet as can be)...

"Actually, it does hurt. I have hearing aids in and it echos."

Oops!
So sorry!
Poor lady!

One month! (on May 27th)

I'm a little late with this post, but hey! It still needs to get done- after all, this IS my journal, right?!
hanging out in the bouncer
Me and my boys (minus Bobby- he's taking the picture)

Gavin boy is getting big... still TINY, really, but getting bigger. He's definitely getting some chub on his body. (my aunt says my milk must be pure fat) :) He's enjoying it, and he's growing- that's all that matters!!

On his one month birthday (or so) he started smiling! He would give a few little grins here and there, mainly while asleep, but since his one month it's been easier to get him to smile at you. He is such a sweet little boy! We love him so much. (And it's nice to get a little response out of him to know he loves us too!) :)

Brody loves his baby brother. Anytime Gavin starts to fuss/cry, Brody makes sure I know about it. He hates it when his brother is sad. Brody will always ask where his baby brother is and if he finds him he says "OH! There he is!" He likes to point out Gavin's eyes, mouth, and nose. He thinks it's funny to put his face RIGHT in front of Gavin... he doesn't understand me when I tell him that Gavin can't see him when he's that close. I guess it is a little easier for Gavin to see close, but still!

Brody lays down by Gavin any chance he gets! Aren't they so sweet!
Gavin is having more and more awake time and is such a sweet, calm, relaxed little boy. He is still sleeping very well. Only wakes up twice in the night, and falls asleep on his own. The other night, I fed him and was going to put him back in his bed, when all of a sudden I looked down at him (half asleep) and he was giving me the biggest open mouth smile! It was so darn sweet! I couldn't help but wake up more and smile back at him for a few minutes.

He loves looking at lights, and loves the bath. I have been staying off of milk while nursing him (because Brody had a sensitivity to it) and it has made such a difference (between the 2 boys). I started eating yogurt and cottage cheese when Gavin was about 2 weeks old and after every feeding he was fussy and would spit up practically everything I fed him. I have not been eating any dairy, once again, and it has helped. (Of course, he still gets fussy and spits up - but nothing like the 3rd week).

Bobby fed Gavin his first bottle at 2 weeks. Gavin didn't have any problem with the bottle, and will also take almost any binky we've given him. (thank goodness, because we like the Nuks!) he doesn't seem to be too picky! Good boy!
My boys! (Don't mind my pink robe- Brody was cold!)
