Chuck-E-Cheese

We headed out to Layton last night to run a few errands that I've had on my list to do for the past week. on our way out we we're thinking of what to do for dinner. Bobby said we'd have to get something quick because Brody won't sit at a Restaurant! He suggested Fazoli's, which made me think of Pizza, which then led to Chuck E. Cheese. I told him we should try it out and that Brody would LOVE it! So, on a random spurt, we headed to CEC. We parked (luckily, we found a spot), and walked inside. We wondered if we went in the right door because we had to wait behind a little rope that held us back while the lady let people thru the rope on the other side to leave. (a little confusing? Sorry!) Anyway, this nice little lady had to stamp all of our hands, then she let us in. We went in and ordered a pizza to share. Half cheese, half pepperoni. I'm not totally loving pizza right now, so I wanted just plain old cheese. We also bought tokens at the pizza counter because you got more for your money. We ended up getting 40 tokens + 10 free for $10. Little did we know, it would take us 2 hours to get rid of all of those tokens. It was fun though! We waited for about 20-30 minutes for our pizza to come, I was starving! Bobby kept walking around with Brody to look at all of the games. He loved all that was going on! We ate our pizza and then went out to play. We played Ski ball- which I love (Brody would throw the balls, too, but they would usually end up in the lane next to us!). Bobby played lots of sports games- go figure! and, we also played a water game together. We had to shoot the water in the little hole to win. On the first round, Bobby started out ahead of me, so I bumped his arm so that i could get ahead and win. He kept doing it to me from then on and he kept winning! We won 282 tickets, which you then had to send thru the ticket muncher (that's really what it was called) and people kept butting in front- especially little kids. So, i stood in line to get our prizes - 282 tickets worth. I kept asking for a certain item and they would say they were out. I ended up getting a pink comb (for me) some candy, 2 spiders, a popper thing?, stickers, and who knows what else. Anyway, while I was getting all of these SWEET items, the kid helping me wasn't even subtracting my tickets on his calculator that was right IN FRONT OF HIM! After I had gotten all that I barely even cared about, I said "how many tickets do I have left?" He replied with, "you're done, that's all of your tickets". OH! ok, that was quick! And, before I even asked him how many I had left, he was looking at me like he was waiting for me to ask for something else.... so, apparently, he wasn't even keeping track(And, i could've gotten some bath fizzies, darn it!).

After we left, we headed to Bed bath and Beyond, which was only ONE of many things I needed to get done. Needless to say, we had a fun night, and we'll be heading back out there today to finish what we set out to do yesterday! Maybe I'll have more stories later!

Brody- 19 months

Brody looking out the window at the First snow of the season! (Sun. Oct. 12) He kept saying "no! no! (snow)"
(We took him outside to play in it for the first time and he really enjoyed it! Bobby showed him how to make a snowball and then he said, "and then you throw it at cars"... nice, hunky! Brody liked throwing the "ball" with his daddy! It was a lot of fun, and I can't wait to play in the snow again later!)

I took Brody into the Dr. on Wed. Oct, 8. It was his 18 month check-up which was actually done at 19 months. We had one scheduled for the end of Sept, but had to re-schedule and by the time they could get us in again it would be another 2 weeks. Yeah- his Dr is pretty much awesome! (If you're in need of a good pediatrician, see me! AKA, if you go to Grow up Great, see me!) Anyway, we took him in and here are his stats:

21.1 pounds (3%)

31. 5 inches (25%)

18.5 in. head (25%)

Also, here are the notes his Dr wrote down for us... I know a lot of you have little ones, and just thought you would like to see what he says:

16-24 oz milk/day

1/2 dose of a multi-vitamin (1 bear!)

750-1000 mg calcium/day

*POISON PROOF your house*

water heat set on low 120*

car seat facing rear until 2 (yes, I'm not lying, I'll explain)

verbal stimulation- reading, singing, talking to (he says Brody is talking VERY well for his age!! The Dr was very impressed! That's my boy!)

*** Some of Brody's new words include:

(with hands up by his shoulders) all gone!

what's that?

shoes

garbage

bed

snow (which sounds more like no!)

nana (my mom)

fruit snacks (muna)

crunchies

juice

done

shower

book

light

He also has 12 teeth (4 top, 4 bottom, 4 molars - 2 on top, 2 on bottom, and his top 2 canines are coming in, one is through the skin so I guess he has 13 teeth. the bottom 2 are coming thru as well.)

So, back to the car seat facing rear until 2... I know you're probably thinking that's crazy, but I would rather have Brody safe, than have it be convenient for me to see him. I can always use a mirror! His Dr really reads up on his stuff! He says that he receives a pediatric journal once a month with ALL of the new information that comes out so often. He said that there have been some tests done and it shows that kids facing forward have 5x as many injuries as kids facing backwards. FIVE TIMES! That's a lot. So, he said that the new evidence makes it better for kids under two to face backwards. Brody will be riding backwards once again, for the next 5 months... which really isn't that long, plus, he's only 21 pounds for heaven's sake! That's only 1 pound over the minimum requirement. And, with the winter coming, I'll feel much better having him backwards. There are a lot of accidents during the winter. I'm just happy to have him as safe as possible!

Another thing his Dr says is to not give him any nuts or peanut butter until he's 3. There has been such an increase in peanut allergies that he doesn't want him to be introduced to them until later on. I asked my Dr about this again at this last app and he still sticks to his 3 year rule. He says peanut allergies can be fatal and not one he wants to mess with.

I'm so glad that he takes his time to look all of these things and pass the information onto me, a first time mom!

Don't feel like you have to follow my baby's Dr's advice, I just thought it was interesting and wanted to spread the info. Do what YOU feel is best for your baby!

Announcing...

Baby #2!!

This is how we told our Parents. I had my first Prenatal visit today and everything looks great! I am 10 weeks (as of Saturday) We got to hear baby's heartbeat and see baby moving around! It was a lot of fun, and Brody just watched the TV screen the whole time! I was so happy to see my Dr. again! He's the BEST!! I can't figure out how to scan my ultrasound pictures in, but when i do, I'll post them! Until then, you can look at the cake! P.S. My actual due-date is May 2. (I was off by a day! oops!)

Just a side note: I found out I was pregnant on Aug. 23. Bobby was golfing, and I had been planning on taking a test that day, but wanted to wait for him to get home. He wouldn't answer his phone so that I could figure out when he would be home, but I had to pee soooo bad. I wanted to take the test first thing in the morning, so without Bobby knowing, I took the test, and left it in the bathroom. I went downstairs and waited... and waited... and waited... an hour went by, and I still hadn't heard from Bobby. (Yes, I had a pregnancy test upstairs that I STILL hadn't looked at.) I had a hair appointment at 11:45 and needed to go get ready. So, I went upstairs and started to get dressed. I walked into the bathroom, hoping my eyes wouldn't look at the test (I wanted Bobby to be there) but, they slipped, and looked! It said "pregnant"! A few minutes later, Bobby walked in the door and Brody and I went downstairs to say hi. I ended up telling Brody to go get the present he had for Daddy. I took Brody upstairs and came down with the test. Brody walked over to where Bobby was (who was actually in the bathroom by now) and when bobby came out, he looked at what Brody had in his hands. Bobby's face lit up and he looked at me with wide eyes and said "SHUT UP! Are you?!!" (In a very nice, excited tone, might I add!) I laughed and said, "you don't know what it says yet!" So, he tried to get it from Brody, who wouldn't hand it over, but eventually he saw what it said. He was and is very excited! It was a cute moment and I'm actually kinda glad I surprised him with it! It was fun!

Fun Tag- but I WASN'T EVEN tagged...

I saw this on Bobby's cousins blog and had to do it! Note: I went to 2 different High Schools so I may answer questions to both. I was at Borah High School in Boise ID for my Sophomore and half of my Junior year, and at Centennial High School for the last half of Junior year and Senior year.

1. Did you date someone from your high school?: Um, Yes.

2. What kind of car did you drive?: 2000 Dodge Neon, crashed it, then got another, parents sold it, drove my mom's Mustang, crashed that, and then ended up with a Ford Escort :) Gotta love the cars!

3. What is your most embarrassing moment in high school?: Probably crashing both cars on the same road within 3 months of each other, BUT, the MOST embarrassing part.... I rear ended a teacher from school THREE times in a ROW. No joke. It was my mom's Mustang, STICK SHIFT. I tried to stop, my flip flop caught on the brake and I slammed down on the clutch, which sent me into the back of Mr. Wolfram's huge truck 3 times. (The girl with the loudest mouth in school saw it happen and went to Football practice to tell everyone... she was the water girl if you can imagine!) LOVELY! the story the NEXT day was "Erica rear ended Mr. Wolfram 7 times in the parking lot!"- no, it was down the street and it was only 3 times!

4. Were you a party animal?: Hmm... I didn't do anything bad, but yes, I would go out with friends to parties. I was known for having a soda!! YAY ME!

5. Were you considered a flirt?: Who? ME?? No way! ;)

6. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?: HA! choir for like the first semester of my Sophomore year- just Because! ... I don't sing!

7. Were you a nerd?: Nope

8. Were you on any varsity teams?: Cheer! (at both schools)

9. Did you get suspended/expelled?: No way! I was an ANGEL!

10. Can you still sing the fight song?: Sad, but no. (I wasn't a Davis Dart!)

11. Who were your favorite teachers?: Mrs. Thompson, and hmmm... can't remember anyone else's names. I can picture them though! Give me a break, I'm pregnant, AND it's been 4 years!

12. Where did you sit during lunch?: second table on the left right as you walked into the lunch room

13. School Mascot?: Borah Lions, and Centennial Bulldogs

14. Did you go to homecoming and with who?: Yes, with Jimmy, Troy, and Andy (different years, not the same night! HA! who do you think I am?)

15. If you could go back and do it again, would you?: OF COURSE! (And I would go find Bobby at High school so I could check him out! Wait, he was on his mission!)

16. What do you remember most about graduation?: getting my Tiffany's necklace from my Mommy! Going to P.F. Chang's and sitting FOREVER.... Graduation = BORING!

17. Where did you go senior skip day?: Umm... I was in Las Vegas and I think that's only a Utah thing... kinda like jell-o salad. BTW- I NEVER skipped! The one day I did, was the day I rear ended Mr. W. My mom always told me- "if you are where you are supposed to be, you will be protected". Boy, was she right! I went to lunch with a friend during 5th period and later that day, had my little episode!

18. Have you gained weight since then?: No, still the same (well, a few months ago i was!)

19. Who was your prom date?: Jimmy (again), Jared, and Jason.

20. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion?: heck no! JK, it's not for another 6 years, but we'll see. If I do, I'll go to Borah's. I grew up with those kids!

21. Looking back, what advice would you give yourself?: Ditzy is NOT as cute as you think! (I seriously don't like to be ditzy, so if I am acting dumb, I really mean it! I won't lie, i don't get EVERYTHING people talk about!) But, in HS it was a little over played! :)

LOVE YA!
