Brody's Summer Haircut

BEFORE:
DURING: (HE HATED IT!)

AFTER:

Uncle Evan's visit

My brother, Evan, (who shares Gavin's birthday) came into town last weekend. It was fun to see him. Brody kept saying "Evan truck!!" because he got to sit in Evan's truck when he drove up here the last time he came to visit. It's funny how they remember things that happened so long ago! Evan also met his newest nephew for the first time!Evan and Gavin

He's definitely growing...

Gavin wore this outfit for the first week- it's a preemie size- I put it in my bag just in case I ever needed another outfit. Well, the time came that I needed another outfit, but I guess I should have switched it out, because it did us absolutely no good!!!

Ooohhh... he just melts my heart!

Last night after dinner we were sitting on the couch watching Brody play basketball. "Dancing with the stars" was on so we were watching it as well. While I was sitting there, Brody came up to me and pulled on my hand (like he wanted me to get up and do something)... he does this a lot and he usually ends up trying to get me to do something that I've told him not to do. Smart kid. Anyway, I got up and he grabbed my other hand and started spinning in circles with me. He wanted to dance with his mommy. What a sweet boy! We spun around and danced for a while- some of his moves were actually pretty funny! He obviously saw one of the dance endings on the show and decided he would do the same move... he ended on the floor with his left knee down, his right foot out in front, and his hands up in the air. ha! he sat like that for a while. He is always entertaining us and he really knows how to steal his mommy's heart over and over again! I love him!Giving me flowers for Mother's Day :)

"Jesus, Happy!"

Brody was hitting me the other day and I was telling him to not hit mommy, that it was not nice. He doesn't seem to listen to me sometimes (most of the time) so I said "Brody, Jesus gets sad when you hit mommy, we need to be nice and make Jesus happy!"

About ten minutes later he was downstairs while I was making my bed. I called his name to make sure he was ok. This was our conversation:

Me: Brody?
B: huh?
Me: what are you doing?
B: I downstairs...
Me: ok, are you being good?
B: Yeah, Jesus Happy!!

:) I was so touched! He is such a sweet little boy and I'm glad he is already learning that it's important to make Jesus happy!

Brothers

We were transferring all of our old photos from our laptop to our computer yesterday, and I couldn't help but look thru a bunch of them. I pulled up Brody's newborn pictures and he looked at the computer and said "OH! Baby brother!" ... What do you think? (minus the hair difference! :) Brody HAD none, now he has tons! Gavin has lots already.)

Happy Anniversary!

4 years ago today...

I was getting ready for my wedding, didn't eat breakfast because I was too anxious, and I was still in need of a wedding gift for Bobby... it ended up being the game Twister (Bratz edition) and he got me roses and earrings. (I'm lame, but I was out of time!)

4 years ago today...
I got a call from the salon saying that the girl who was scheduled to do my hair got sick... someone else was luckily available and it all worked out!
4 years ago today...

I was walking from my hotel to Temple Square with my Mom to meet Bobby for our wedding pictures... she found him and came to me saying, "your groom is waiting for you", I looked up and ran to him immediately! We took our pictures!

4 years ago today....

I walked into the Salt Lake City Temple with Bobby at my side. We sat together until 12:40 when it was our turn to go in and be sealed. Lots of friends and family were there. I borrowed another girls perfume while I was freshening up before leaving the Temple (how did I forget that stuff!?). I met Bobby again and we walked out as Mr. and Mrs. McGuire!

4 years ago today...
We went back to my hotel to (no... not yet!) pick up my suitcase and then headed to our reception. We took pictures until people started showing up at 7. We had a reception line from 7-8 and then dancing until 9. Bobby got dresses up in a wig by my Dad and had to sing along with his band... it was great! :)
Getting ready to leave...
4 years ago today....

Bobby looked at his watch and then looked at me with big eyes and mouthed the words "we're outta here!". Our car was decorated and we were off to Park City for the weekend. We got to our hotel room and found a cute little gift basket of goodies from his mom and sisters. We then... well, you know!

4 years ago today....

I became the Happiest girl in the world.
Thank you baby, for being so wonderful! I love you so very much! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

2 weeks old (Monday, May 11)

Pictures I took - 6 days old

These past 2 weeks have flown by. I know 2 weeks isn't that long, but it feels like Gavin's been with us forever! He is such a good baby! He just chills all day long and sleeps well at night. He only gets up twice and goes right back to sleep after I feed him. 2 kids hasn't been as bad as I expected. It's actually quite easy- of course, Gavin just sleeps most of the day, but at least I have time to adjust before he becomes more active! Brody has enjoyed having his "baby brother" around! He wakes up and immediately starts asking for "baby brother". He loves to kiss his head and "hold it"... he will look at Gavin and say to me, "hold it!". I don't know where he got "it" from, but oh-well! He will also get right in Gavin's face and just laugh whenever he (Gavin) looks at him. He gets a kick out of him when he's awake. They are so cute! I love my sweet boys!

Tuesday, I took Gavin to his 2 week appointment. Here are his stats:

-Head: 16 cm (I think... I'll have to double check on the paper) But, the Dr said his head was 25th %.

- Length: 20 1/4 inches (was 18 1/2 at birth) 50th%

- Weight: 8 lbs 8 oz (was 7 lbs 9 oz at birth and 6 lbs 13 oz when we left the hospital) 50th%

The Dr says he is doing great and was amazed at how much he has gained in only 2 weeks. He came in, looked at his chart and asked how much he weighed at birth. I told him, and he said "wow! we only expect babies to be back up to their birth weight by 2 weeks... he's added on another pound!" Gavin also has quite a bit of what the Dr called "breast tissue". It's little lumps under his nipples that will go away in the next couple of months. It comes from all of the hormones he is getting from me and my milk. The Dr said this was good and he is obviously getting some good milk! That made me very happy! After our appointment, I had to take him to the lab to get his heel pricked for his PKU- he didn't even cry!

Gavin's umbilical cord fell off on Saturday, May 9. I dreamed it fell off, and then that morning it was gone. It had been bleeding a little the day before, so I was a little/lot paranoid of it... hence the dream!

This is the kind of picture we've been seeing a lot of lately! Brody gets ahold of the camera and goes wild! (His fingers are always in front of the lens!)

Gavin in the sling at the park- 4 days old (that binky looks HUGE! We got some "Soothie's" that are shaped like his mouth now, so they don't look so bad!)
