{August}

Here are some pictures of what we've been up to this month!
Me (kinda) and my boys! (Daddy's at work) :(

Getting ready for a nap- Gavin wanted to lay down for a few minutes! Brody loved it!
Gavin started rolling from his stomach to his back on Aug. 19. ( My bad- I never do tummy time with him... he hates it!)

While grocery shopping one day, I heard Brody say, "oh no! lotion!" I looked in the cart to see that he had grabbed the lotion from my bag, opened it, and dumped it on his leg and shoe. At least he smelled good!

GOT MILK?

Brody's car. He wouldn't let the painter get near his face, so it ended up on his arm!

Spider-man Braxton and Brody with his car arm :)

Our little chunk-a-munk!

Gavin and Lucy- he's one day older

Gavin and Brody in the Cutest kids contest... they didn't win :( They're the CUTEST kids I know! (Apparently you have to be either a frilly little girl or be dressed in a full cowboy costume to win... rigged!

Brody eating an 8" sandwich from Jimmy John's-yes, he eats the WHOLE thing!
Some funny Brody stories:
Brody was playing on the floor with his motorcycle...
Me: Let's go take a nap, Brody.
B: (stands up, and while he's walking away he says:) Bye motorcycle... I lub you!
Brody insisted on wearing his "soccer shirt and soccer shoes" (Sometimes I tell him certain clothes are "sports related" so he'll wear them- sneaky, I know!) After I got him dressed he was walking around the house and kept looking down at his shirt and shoes... all of a sudden, I heard:
"I look handsome!"
After my mom left our house one day, I told him to say "bye nana! I love you!" He said "bye nana" then about 5 minutes later while playing with his toys he said "I lub you nana!" It was adorable!
We went to the pool one evening and picked up Subway for dinner. Brody ate a foot long sandwich- by himself.

Thankful

Today, we (the kiddies and I) were driving to the mall and were in the far left lane about a mile from our exit. I was next to a semi with a long trailer attached, carrying 2 huge pieces of metal equipment (stacked on top of each other). As we were going around a curve the semi started to come into my lane (road construction was causing the lanes to be extremely narrow). So, I noticed him getting too close and slowed down to get away from him. As soon as I slowed down I noticed the top piece of equipment start to fall toward me and I slammed on my brakes watching this huge thing fall right in front of me. I had nowhere to go because of the narrow lanes- there was no turn off or shoulder to pull into. I was amazed that it kept bouncing and rolling in the same direction I was going- I kept expecting it to stopped dead in it's tracks- thank goodness it didn't or else I probably would've ended up hitting it. As I was breaking, trying not to hit this thing flying in front of me, I was looking in my rear-view making sure the people behind me weren't going to rear-end me. Luckily, they all saw what was happening and they stopped. I finally got my car stopped and pulled over as far as I could. I was scared to death!

I called HP and told them about the incident. A couple in a van stopped with me and checked to see if I was OK. The man came up to me and said "how did that not hit you?". At that point, I realized how blessed I was to have been aware of my surroundings and stay calm while all of that was happening. If I had stayed where I was in the first place (right next to him) that huge machine would've landed right on top of my car. Our car wasn't touched at all except for a big piece of plastic that draped over my mirror. I am so extremely thankful for the many angels that surround us each day. As soon as I stopped my car, with shaking hands and tears rolling down my cheeks, I prayed and thanked our Father in Heaven for watching over me and my babies. Throughout the day I've had some mixed emotions... I've cried a few more times, and I've laughed a little- I've laughed just thinking of Brody's reaction. As soon as he saw the thing flying in front of us and the debris going everywhere he said "oh-no" over and over... it was so cute! I know the Lord truly blesses us and am so thankful for all that he does.

Brody and Grandpa rockin' out!

Gavin's "talking"

He loves his voice- and so do we! Gavin started to "talk" (coo) this last week and it's so stinkin' cute!

August- so far...

Here are some pictures I just uploaded to my computer- I haven't been doing very well at updating, so hopefully this will just catch me up...

Brody getting Guitar lessons from Grandpa! (My parents have a band room... they bought a (real) drum set, guitar, and bass guitar for the grand kids. The boys have a BLAST playing all of the instruments- they're just their size! SO CUTE!

Gav- chillin and watchin' some TV!

Our Sweet boys- after Church!

Daddy helping Brody ride his (mission) bike!

Mommy's turn- it had been YEARS since I was on a bike... I got on in a skirt!
See ya!

Bobby's turn- I couldn't resist this sexy picture!

Bobby's "back-to-school" supplies (I made him this little basket for getting into school) :)

Gavi boy!
We went to watch our friend, Paul, sing at C.H.

Gav's shots

I'm doing Gavin's shots a little more spread out than the normal immunization schedule. (I will have him imm. by 2, but I don't like him (or Brody) to get a ton all at once). So, he got a few at his 2 month app. and then got 2 more yesterday (he's finished with his 2 month series). He did great! As I was leaving, I weighed him... he was 13 lbs 14 oz. He has gained 2 lbs in just one month! Wow! Way to go, bud!

The best part is...?

NO! We don't have to move! (I've had a few people wonder if we were going to be moving for B's school). CMU offers a "flexmode" program for certain employers (12 total - in the US)- his job offers this program so he will be doing live video classes from his office. :)

Now, until his classes start in about 3.5 weeks, we will be enjoying time together and... school shopping! Yep, I told Bobby I'm taking him back-to-school shopping! I think I'm more excited than him. :)
