I just want to...

CRY.

Watching the news for the past week has been so disturbing to me. We turn on the TV and the top story is about the Protesters at the LDS Temples. It breaks my heart to see anyone doing such hateful things on the Temple grounds, let alone, directed at the church. They have no idea how sacred of a place it really is.

While everyone is talking about Obama being President and how "wonderful this historic moment is" I do realize that it is historic ONLY for the fact that he is the FIRST BLACK President. I think the most historic (if you want to call it that) thing is what has been going on with the Protesters. I know that my kids will be learning about the First Black President in school, and they will probably come home and have to ask me and Bobby what we were doing when we found out about the First B.P. All I will say is: "We were sad, scared, and went to bed before we even listened to his acceptance speech." I will then go on to say, "The thing I remember most about the elections of 2008 is all of the hate shown to our Church. Protesters stood outside of the gates of the Salt Lake and Los Angeles Temples for days (possibly weeks) with signs saying things like "Shame on YOU" "When do I get a say in YOUR marriage?" and "Protect my marriage, Ban Mormons". It is times like this when I realize how close the second coming really is. We are definitely living in the last days.

I have seen many articles written on this Prop. 8 subject, saying things such as: "Mormons make up less than 2 % of California" and "Baptists, Catholics, Jews, and OTHER religions supported the passing of Proposition 8." Satan sure can get a toll on people. I think it is very interesting to see this happening in my own State. 20 minutes away, to be exact. I can't believe that the LA Temple had guards surrounding the grounds all night. And another thing... someone sent a package of white powder to both Temples, yesterday. Leave it alone people!

Here are some pictures I found online:

Another interesting note: I spoke to a friend of mine who lives in LA and she said that she "didn't like the fact that people voted for Obama JUST because it was the COOL thing to do, it was like a trend. No one even knew what he REALLY stood for, just the fact that he was black and new." She also said that she received a text from a friend that day that said "if you believe in rights, meet at the LA LDS Temple at 2 this afternoon" All I could say was "THANK YOU for not going!" Love you K!

A funny picture of Bobby at the Tim McGraw concert... I am under the blanket- we were taking some goofy pictures together and as soon as we pushed the button, he covered my face so you wouldn't be able to see me... he's always entertaining me!

Dr. Yamashiro gives a 90% chance of a...

BOY!

We went in to the Dr on Monday, Nov. 3. My Dr walked in and said, "so, if I can tell what it is, do you want to know?" Bobby and I looked at each other and were in shock! Of course we wanted to know! We didn't know he could tell us this early (I was 14 weeks 2 days at the time) and I found out at 18 weeks with Brody. I thought I was just in the ultrasound room due to limited rooms- I've been in there many times without getting an US done. So, I hopped up on the table, and he began the ultrasound! We saw the baby's face- got some cute pictures- and then he moved down to see what we were having. At first he said "the umbilical cord is in the way", but then right after said "OH!" he looked at me and continued... "I think you're having another one". I said to him "another what! HA!" Bobby was ecstatic at this point, because it was so obvious on the screen. I kept telling my Dr to check again (I was in shock! Mainly because I wasn't expecting to find out that day) he continued to move the US device to other views and continued to see the same thing. He did it about 5 times. When he was done, i sat up and said "so... it's a boy!?" He could tell I wanted reassurance (don't ask me why, but I did that with Brody too. I just feel so in shock when he tells us what we're having) so, he said "I'm 90% sure it's a boy! How's that?!" :) He is so funny! I absolutely love my Dr, and Bobby and I trust him, so here we are, having another boy! We are so excited! After my appointment, we walked out of the room and his nurse was sitting at her desk- I was their last appointment, which is why I think he decided to have some fun by telling us! He looked at his nurse and said "We know what she's having!" Still shocked, I said "So, I can just say it now?!... it's a boy!" She was excited to hear the news! On the way home, Bobby and I were talking and decided to just tell our parents, but knowing that it wouldn't stay just between parents, we decided to tell everyone. I will have my big US in a month and will get a confirmation, but as for now, I have my wonderful Dr's 90% assurity! It's been fun telling Brody that he is going to have a baby BROTHER! He said Brother today! We can't wait until he's here!

History Shmistory

I am writing this ONLY to have it as a reminder to me later on. Last night, Nov. 4, 2008. Barack (sp?) Obama was made President of the United States. I AM IN SHOCK- well, not really, because I knew it was a possibility, but still, I am just overwhelmed with the emotions going on right now. I couldn't sleep last night- mainly because my two sweet boys were in my bed coughing away- I'm pregnant and can't sleep well anyway- but also because I kept thinking of this ridiculous outcome. After Obama was declared the winner, they showed on the TV all of his little supporters doing their victory rally. Did anyone else notice that EVERY SINGLE PERSON WAS BLACK? My goodness! No wonder he won. People didn't vote for him because he will be a good leader, but because of his COLOR, I'm sure. What a STUPID reason! oh! And, because Oprah has such an influence over all of her followers. Ugh! I AM NOT RACIST- I have NO problem with black people- I'm from Las Vegas for heaven's sake and one of my BFF's was black (well, she called herself brown, but still!). The point is that I am not looking forward to having him as Pres. BTW- I will NEVER call him P. Obama, he does NOT deserve that! I am sick over the whole thing. This morning, I turned on the news, and heard President Bush (such a cute little man!) give a speech. Honestly, he looked extremely disappointed. And, the only things he talked about were the basics. He never once came across as being pleased, happy, or hopeful about our future with Obama in the WHITE house. I am scared for our country. Keep it in your prayers!

Just a thought-

before you VOTE! As most of you know, Bobby works for an Investment Management Firm (or bank?) I'm not sure what to call it ever since all of this economy stuff started going on. Anyway! Being in touch with the Stock Market, his office has a TV up on the wall for the employees to watch while working. When I say watch, I mean, CNBC is on so they can keep an eye on wall street and stock prices. He came home from work yesterday and said that the men on CNBC were talking about Obama and say that if O gets into office we will be in a recession for the next 4 years. NICE CHANGE! NOT! They say this will happen because of his tax and money plans. I just thought I would share the comment these wise men made, before everyone goes out to vote. So, with this said, please take the time to think of those things that are most important to you, and make a good choice. Happy Voting!

Just a funny story: My brother told me that my dad (a plumber in Las Vegas) was going to vote for O. I was furious! So, I called to have a little chat with him. He told me he WAS going to, but had changed his mind after he heard what he was going to do to "Joe, the plumber"! Ha! I was cracking up! He said he didn't want O "taking his money"- his plumbing money :)

Halloween 2008

Seriously LOVE Brody's face in this picture! (Me, Bobby, Brody)- if you couldn't figure that one out- you shouldn't be reading our blog!
It was Brody's 2ND Halloween! He had a BLAST! He was a Ninja, Bobby was a Chopper, and I was ... wait for it... a Pregnant Ballerina Witch! Pretty cool, huh?! We all wanted to be ninjas with Brody, but I really wanted to be a Ballerina Witch and I didn't feel like making all of our costumes this year - (i did make my tutu though!). We had a party for our Ward on Saturday, Oct. 25, which was followed by Bobby's HS friends annual Halloween party! Then, on Halloween, I took Brody to bobby's office for trick-or-treating, and then we went to Bobby's parents house for a Halloween party and Trick-or-Treating around the neighborhood! We got to his parents' around 6 pm and we all went out T-O-Ting. It was fun having everyone there (we missed Billy and jacee). Brody absolutely LOVES his cousins! He kept saying "Jake, Emma!" all night. He would run up to the front doors with them to get candy, and they especially love to run around in the basement at Grandma and Grandpa's house. It is so much fun watching him interact with his cousins. We went to my Parents house (who are in the same neighborhood!) and got some candy! I finally got to meet my cute new nephew Jayden, who is a week and a half! I hadn't seen him because he was in the NICU for a few days, and DeeDee brought him and Braxton over to our Parents home for Halloween! After all of the T-O-Ting, we went back to my in-laws and had dinner - Soup in cute little Pumpkin soup bowls! Then, we went downstairs and played some Halloween games. Brody loved the Pumpkin bowling and carried the pumpkin around all night! For one of the games you had to pick a piece of paper out of a bucket and do the "trick" that was on it. I had to do a Cartwheel! Bobby walked like a Spider- which the kids loved! Bill had to walk like Frankenstein, Nat did a somersault, Bracken danced like a fairy (absolutely hilarious!), Emma made a scary face, Jeff flapped his wings like a bat, Brody picked "treat" which won him a prize, and unfortunately, that's all I remember! Sorry! Anyway, after that game, and Bingo, we had a tossing game. Bobby tied a Pumpkin bucket around his waist and I had to throw candy corn in it. Sadly, we lost, and I only got 9 in there- boo! I think Ju and Brack won with 42. HA! Big difference! After the games, we went upstairs and had dessert. There were cute little spider and witch hat cookies and a cake! It was a fun night! Brody is STILL exhausted!

Another Family photo!

Baby McCoy- during our wild games!
***And, just a public apology to my cute little neighborhood... :)
I know my front door said "trick-or-treaters welcome" and I know I wasn't even at home handing out candy! I'm sorry! I should've taken the sign down- because I'm sure as people were knocking on my door, reading my sign, they were wondering what the heck I was doing by not handing out candy! Oops! I was at the party! better luck next year IF you come over!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Brody's Testimony!

On Sunday, October 19, we had our Fast and Testimony meeting at Church. It is usually held on the First Sunday of every month, but General Conference took place that day so we moved it. We were sitting in Sacrament Meeting and Brody walked up to the front and went up the stairs. I was closest, so I got up and went to get him, which landed me a seat next to our Branch President. He saw me come up and pulled the seat down for me to sit in! :) So, being in front of everyone, I sat, and waited for the person speaking to finish until it was my turn. I had Brody on my lap and just as the guy was finishing up, Brody got down, stared at him and said... "a bah bah bah bah..." (like someone was talking too much) It was so funny. It came to be my turn so I grabbed Brody and went up to the podium. Brody then grabbed the microphone, pulled it towards himself and said...."a bah bah bah bah bah..." I took it back and continued speaking. He did this probably 2 more times! I wanted to explain his reasoning behind yelling into the microphone, but didn't find it too appropriate to say in Sacrament meeting that he learned this from my mom who taught him to sing into the Rock band microphone by saying "bah bah bah bah". I found the whole thing quite funny, while Bobby sat in front smiling and shaking his head! It was too cute! I'm proud of him for bearing his testimony! Let's hope he doesn't get stage freight when he gets older- he's on a roll!
